Coastal Recycling: 2025 Wrapped

As we enter 2026, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our milestones and achievements from the last year.  We accepted a whopping 214,468 tonnes of recycling and waste for processing – including 55,551 tonnes of green garden waste, we’ve booked on 38,174 jobs, emptied 89,964 bins and received 51,935 phone calls.

As well as our busy operations and the thousands of tonnes of waste we’ve accepted for recycling, this year has been all about progress, innovation, and staying true to our values. Sustainability sits at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud of the steps we’ve taken to make a real impact.

Carbon savings: Working with an environmental consultancy to measure our carbon footprint, while developing strategies to reduce emissions.

Customer impact: Through audits and education, we’ve helped clients boost recycling rates and reduce waste heading for incineration or landfill.

Efficiency gains: Our AI-informed routing system is cutting mileage, fuel use, and emissions while improving service delivery.

Community Action: Through local action we’ve donated 100s of tonnes of compost, volunteered our time, rallied the community and forged partnerships grounded in longevity and sustainability. This year we supported 19 social value initiatives including organising our own community ‘Clean the Quay‘ event

Processing Innovation: We have introduced smart, sensor-driven recycling technology and are transforming our site to enable more efficient material separation and advanced processing.

Superstar Status: We were proud to be recognised externally for the work we do. In November, we won a Sustainability Superstar Award at The Notty Awards.

As we reflect on the successes and achievements of 2025, we are already excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in 2026. Our continued investment in technology, community, social value, and sustainability will ensure that Coastal Recycling remains at the forefront of the recycling and waste management industry in the southwest. We are committed to providing innovative waste solutions that not only meet regulatory requirements but also make a meaningful difference to the environment.
