Coastal Recycling is delighted to announce they have won two awards at the Exeter Living Awards Exeter Living Awards which took place on 30th March at the Great Hall at the University of Exeter. Coastal not only won the acclaimed Sustainability Award but then went on to win the Platinum Award, an overall winner drawn from all 20 finalists.
As Devon’s largest independent recycling business, our vision is to maximise the recycling and recovery of resources and be market-leading in our commitment to sustainability. Our commitment to this vision, our service and dedication to provide sustainable waste solutions to businesses all over the Southwest has led to this significant milestone.
The award also could not have been achieved without the people behind it. Our employee-owned status means all who work here are fully invested in the business and have a direct incentive to build a successful organisation. Since 2014, only 730 companies in the UK have introduced the Employee Ownership share structure. Coastal is proud to be a unique business that unites leaders and employees behind a common purpose.
In the last 12 months numerous milestones have been reached including onboarding 170 new clients, working with them to achieve high recycling targets and working with our Devon community to deliver maximum social impact.
On our award for sustainability the judges said:
“A significant 2022 onboarding over 170 new clients seeking to improve their sustainability practices through analysis. Newly employee-owned, its recycling initiatives are a beacon for countless businesses”
On winning the Platinum Award the judges said:
“Envisioning Exeter’s sustainable future and contributing expert services to nearly 1,600 organisations including Exeter University and Devon County Show. Prompted a significant increase recycling while educating thousands – generating a better tomorrow, today!”
Coastal has worked for years to build an honest, reliable and sustainable recycling business with its people at its heart. Winning the Platinum Award is a culmination of the efforts and dedication of their 150 strong team.
