After careful consideration and consultation, we have made the strategic decision to transfer our (commercial waste) wheelie bin collection operations to Biffa Waste Services Limited (‘Biffa’) a trusted and long-standing partner. This new change will take place from 1st December 2025.
Biffa already brings much of its collected recycling and waste to our facilities in Exeter and Torrington, and this established relationship means we are working alongside them to ensure the transition is as smooths as possible.
This change reflects the increasingly competitive nature of the wheelie bins collections market. Remaining efficient and profitable had become challenging so we see this change as a positive step forward. We will continue to strengthen our commitment to sustainability through processing construction waste, dry mixed recycling, and garden waste brought into our site by us and our trusted waste partners.
This change to our service also allows us to focus our resources on growth and improvements at our processing sites in Exeter and Torrington. Improving our recycling processes to reduce waste heading to landfill and extending our composting area to recycle more garden waste are just a couple of the projects currently underway.
Despite this change, our core values remain unchanged: supporting customers and the communities we serve, maximising recycling and resource recovery, and driving sustainable impact for people and the planet.
